Fairchild AFB

Fairchild AFB has been a pillar of U.S. air power since 1942, evolving from a WWII aircraft depot to the home of the 92nd and 141st Air Refueling Wings. Today, our crews keep the world connected—delivering fuel, cargo, and patients wherever they’re needed—and train in elite SERE survival tactics. Named for Washington native General Muir S. Fairchild, the base carries forward his spirit of leadership and adaptability with every mission.

Life at Fairchild blends military precision with genuine warmth. Families enjoy on-base schools, parks, and support services set against Eastern Washington’s rolling hills and pine forests. Weekends bring community cookouts, air shows, and hikes under clear blue skies.
