On April 1, 2025, the Spokane Convention Center will host an extraordinary event featuring Helga Melmed, a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Born in Berlin, Germany, in 1928, Helga endured unimaginable hardships during the Nazi regime, including her time in Auschwitz and other labor camps. By the time she was liberated at sixteen, she weighed only forty-six pounds and found herself alone in a foreign country.
