On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Spokane’s Riverfront Park will host the Heroes Silkies Walk 5K & Community Resource Fair, a heartfelt event dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. This gathering aims to raise awareness about veteran suicide prevention and foster community connections.​

Event Highlights:

  • 9:00 AM – Registration opens, accompanied by the Community Resource Fair.

  • 10:00 AM – Opening ceremonies commence.

  • 10:30 AM – The 5K walk begins along the scenic paths of Riverfront Park. Participants can choose between the full 5K route or the 2K Wounded Heroes path.

  • 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Victory celebration at the finish line.

  • 1:00 PM – Closing ceremony and conclusion of the resource fair.​

The event is open to families and supporters of veterans. Strollers, scooters, and bikes are welcome, making it a family-friendly occasion. Proceeds benefit Heroes Homestead, a local organization dedicated to assisting military families.​
